I have used Winchester 7.62×39 Super-X 123 grain to hunt deer for more than 30 years. It's high quality, clean shooting ammo at a reasonable price.

I took a 140-pound doe last fall with a .308 at around 40 yards—dumb move. Good Lung/high heart hit, with an entry in and exit. but the round clipped a rib on entry and shattered a rib on exit, so both front legs were bloodied to the point one was trash-canned and the other was half cutaway. So a new Mini-30 was in order. After scoping it, the fine-tuning at 75 yards–I hunt in Indiana Hills where 100 yards is about as far as one will ever see–was with various 7.62×39 hollow points. The final test tweaks were five rounds of what I'll hunt with, Win PowerPoint Super-X. Half-inch green native lumber boards back my targets, and sandbags go behind those. All five rounds were perfect mushrooms, with no detectable fragmentation. and right on the money. I mean within a quarter coin-sized spread. I don't competition shoot so I don't figure MOA. Honestly, I couldn't if I tried. I just know that for a 7.62×39 Mini and the Winchester rounds, the accuracy was as good as a 71-year-old still hunter is going to ever need. And the size of the Shroom is certainly big enough that a well-aimed round is going to end any pneumo-cardiac functions that need to end long before the animal makes a drag up and down these hills an exercise that takes the joy out of the hunt.Optics Planet did its part too. The order was processed quickly and efficiently and was on my doorstep before I ever felt the need to look at the tracking to check on progress. A very good price, and I got a special with no shipping charges. Yes, I'll do it all over again.
