Fast processing and shipping for the two in stock boxes I ordered. Can’t be free shipping during these times. Don’t believe the hate, Optics Planet is doing their best like everyone else. Their shipping date algorithm changes as they receive new data and changes frequently. Just pay attention and you’ll get what you need.

Last week, I received (from Optics Planet) three boxes of these Winchester Defender (S9MMPDB1) 147 grain rounds and wonder: 1) why the bullets do not have the distinct notches (or scallops) around the hollow point cavity, as referenced on the back of the box and depicted on the front of the box and evident in photos of the projectile in advertising on other Web sites; and, 2) how these bullets differ, if at all, from the PDX1 in the same grain weight and caliber. The deep notches, visibly absent from the ammunition I received, are, of course, instrumental in allowing the bullet to properly segment and expand after impacting the target. I just looked at my 40 S&W Winchester Defender 165 grain ammo, and they, similar to but even more so than the Ranger T-series, have pronounced notches around the circumference of the hollow point. I am not the only one who would like Winchester to explain the absence of the deep notches on the Defender 147 grain bullets. I am awaiting a response from Winchester. Unless and until a satisfactory response is provided or the particular rounds I received are demonstrated to be effective (in ballistics testing) and perform at least as well as the PDX1 round, I cannot award this ammunition more than one star.

I was looking for some hollow point defensive rounds in 9mm for a while but everything was either out of stock or had an extremely high price. These rounds cycle reliably in my Glock 19 and seem to be of good quality.
