SinterFire 9mm Luger, ammunition brings to bear the devastating effects of frangible when couple with a hollow point. Protect you home with a reduced chance of over-penetrating walls while still having exceptional performance. All SinterFire lead-free, frangible projectiles are manufactured using an exclusive blend of copper and tin composite material and a proprietary heat treatment process. SinterFire is the originator and innovator of this technology used by government, military and law enforcement personnel since 1998. Unlike conventional lead projectiles, which ricochet or fragment into large pieces, SinterFire projectiles disintegrate into small particles upon impact with surfaces harder than themselves. Since the projectiles are lead-free and frangible, they are ideal for close quarter training on steel plates and in tactical houses. I purchased several boxes of these for the first time from Opic Planet. As always Opic Planet had a fare deal on ammo so I gave these a go.. Usually load Rem. 115grs. HPs for personal defense carry, but never shot Sinter Fire ammo, nor 100 grs.. At the range I did notice I didn't have to hold over as much at my 15yds. center mass target,(my Maximum range with my 9mm). The drop was a bit less and they all fired true. I was shooting my S&w 3.5in semi.. I have to report that the 40 rounds I fired were clean, smooth and no jams.. Shot a couple of water jugs at 7yds., exit holes slip open the back side of the jugs quite well, expansion was good, very little smoke if any, clean rounds as well… Some folks consider a lighter ammo round not as effective as a heavier weight round for personal defense.. I believe its a personal preference and shot placement that makes the difference… Sinter Fire Special Duty 9mm HPs 100grs. Brass, is a good choice round to consider if you want a lighter 9mm round…

I think these are a great idea, just to prevent such extreme over-penetration alone. But the energy dump they pack, along with the fact that they will create multiple wound channels means more stopping power than traditional ball ammo. It hits and basically turns into shrapnel and for self defense, what more could you want.

Really excited about the ammo. Looks really promising. Haven't had the chance to shoot it at the range yet. But got a Great deal for the ammo and was able to get it with free shipping. That was huge because that's what normally changes a great deal to something otherwise. Thank you Optics Planet. 🙂

I love the concept but SORRY I can not recommend this ammo. This ammo will not cycle any of my 9mm. FTE on every shot. Doesn’t even blow the slide back to even hang it up half way. Not even once in my Ruger SR9, Mossberg MC2SC, or even my old Taurus PR111 Millenium Pro.
