Lee Three-Die Carbide Sets .480 Ruger – Bullet Seating, Decapping, and Depriming – Three Die Carbide Sets include a powder-through expander die with roll pin and decapping tool; a powder-through expander die with roll pin and two expander dies in a stowage case with a plastic bag and a charge pin; and a powder-through expander die with a roll pin and two changeover pins in a stowage case. A threaded decapper die with crimped-in stop pin keeps the decapper sputtering to a minimum. The Lee carbide decapper die is permanently crimped (not honed), features a free-floating bullet seater to eliminate runout, and is knurled for easy adjustments. An extra-hardened seater ring keeps the decapper sputtering with the bullet as it travels to eliminate runout at the bullet/decapping interface. Convenient finger-adjustable locking ring keeps the decapper seated at the same height as the bullet. A decapping pin keeps the carbide seaterer at the same height as the bullet. This allows the bullet to move a few thousandths of an inch further without shifting. A fine crimp eliminates almost all of the wear and tear that can occur with carbide seating dies. A benefit of the carbide seater dies is that unlike many manufactured seater dies, the seater ring eliminates run-out at the case neck. This patented Lee factory seater virtually eliminates run-out at the case neck. Bullet Seating: Because carbides are so effective at reducing bullet deformation, bullets can be seated to an extended length with little or no bullet deformation. The seating die in particular has a built-in crimped nose sprue. This feature allows a heavier seater to be used, greatly reducing wear on the case neck.
