Hornady swagged the core of these bullets to ensure they have the core energy needed to create the proper amount of fragmentation. The core-jacket separation on this AMP bullet happened at the factory, during the final stretch of the swaging process. Any stray lead from the bullet degrades the quality of the finished product. You won’t find a higher quality, more uniform AMP bullet on the market. Despite the lower quality of the copper jacket, the concentricity of the AMP jacket was precisely engineered to provide the highest level of accuracy at all velocity and range. The concentricity of the match grade AMP jacket also provides the highest level of explosive expansion, even at velocities as low as 1600 feet per second. For this reason, we chose to sell these bullets in bulk rather than securing only the highest quality, match grade AMP bullets for the convenience of it.
