The Hornady V-Max Bullet combines a streamlined, pointed polymer tip with an aerodynamically-designed ovoid-shaped body to create a lightweight, highly-aerobically efficient projectile. This flat-nose varmint bullet has a concentricity of the AMP bullet jacket provides for the ultimate in accuracy at all ranges. The polymer tip keeps the point of impact “cold” to maximize your energy transfer, enhancing the speed and accuracy of the projectile. The concentricity of the AMP bullet jacket provides for the ultimate in accuracy. The short, flat-nosed bullet tip provides concentricity of the jacket/core material which allows for the jacket to expand upon impact with the pistol or rifle. The AMP bullet jacket provides the same amount of energy transfer that a tipped bullet does, even at velocities as low as 1600 feet per second. The point of impact – the polymer tip and body of the V-Max projectile – is the same size as a .22 long rimfire bullet, which means it will have much less deformation and greater terminal velocity than a .22 short with equal dramatic results. Consider the V-Max the ultimate varmint hunting bullet. Explosive round out of Weatherby Varmint in .223 using max load of H335 @ 3675 fps. 1:12 twist. Very accurate. Would only recommend this bullet for smaller varmints. Maybe others have actual experience with this bullet on bigger critters.

Shoot really well in every rifle I have tried them in. They are great for coyotes. DRT. Have been hard to come by lately but Opticsplanet had them at a great price with free shipping. What more could you ask for??
Control –
I load these bullets for shooting coyotes. They perform very well through my .223. They are very Accurate, have devastating terminal effect and don't over penetrate. The only drawback is they don't handle bone well, but that's not what this little bullet was designed to.
